An amendment is a correction and or clarification of a previously submitted tax return. If you discover an error after your return has been filed, you may need to amend your tax return. You must file an amendment return if there is a change in your filing status, income, deductions, or credits. Please note that if you amend your federal tax return, it may affect your state tax liability and must also file a state amendment.
